John Smith is easily one of my favourite folk artists EVER. The British guitar genius rarely plays at venues bigger than your living room (OK, well maybe a tiny bit bigger) making his shows really intimate and him easily stalk-able afterwards although at the last gig there was officially a table separating him and the excitable fans. He’s toured with the late legend John Martyn, Davy Graham, John Renbourn, Jools Holland and Tunng to name a few. His finger picking skills will make you incredibly jealous but you’ll forgive him as he’s completely charming and totally mesmerising. He’s playing a few dates at tiny venues soon so go and check him out. I can only make one of the gigs as I’ll be on my travels… I’m not his biggest stalker, honest.
